Even though I haven't finished A Memory of Light[1], I'm still going to the signing that Sanderson and Harriet are doing in SF today. I'm sure there will be spoilers galore, but I'll survive somehow.

If others want to meet up, email or call me.

[1]I've been savoring it! Or I've been pretty busy. Take your pick.

Tonight I started the prologue on the last Robert Jordan book, A Memory of Light. I didn't expect the overwhelming sense of sadness and reverence that overcame me. Sadness because something that has brought so many friends and family to my life is (almost) over. Reverence because I've been waiting since 1991 to read that final scene that Jordan always had in his head. My impulse is to rush through the reading, but I want to savor it. After this, there's no more. As important as knowing that ending is to me, the journey has become just as important.

What has it felt like for you?

[BTW, this is a spoiler free post. You don't want to find out what I'll do to you if you put spoilers here.]

I've voted, I've eaten, and I've got Towers of Midnight in my greedy hands.

Don't bother me for the next hour, I'm reading. And then I'll go destroy my high on my own by looking at election results.

Just because the Big Book of Bad Art had horrible renditions of Nynaeve, Lan, Rand, etc does NOT mean that Dynamite needs to emulate it with the comic series. I know it must be difficult to get good artists to work with Chuck Dixon, but even so - Jordan's early work should be enough to get around that problem.

The proportions aren't quite as bad as some of Sweet's covers, but they're still pretty bad. And the lack of attention to detail - please double-check your colorists, people!

In a scene where Egwene is in purple, Nynaeve in blue, and Nynaeve's arm reaching towards Rand - why is it we have her arm encased in purple? Really?

Augh.

I really should know better than to expect decent art from WoT products.

Cover to Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time # 1, put out by Dabel Brothers last week.

Hawk: "BF, is that Rand, Perrin, and Mat or hobbits?"
BF, with a smile: "Yes"

Nice to know poor quality cover art is going to be a tradition on the comics as well!
