merhawk: (Shut up and Hike)

Fun: Hiking Zim Zim Falls at the Knoxville State Wildlife Area near Lake Berryessa.
Not Fun: Getting poison oak on all four limbs and my back. It's probably covering anywhere from 35-50% of my mass there.
Not Fun 2: It starting to show on my face so I had to go to Urgent Care.
Fun! Medrol Dose packs and steroid creams to rub on. Plus scalding showers to shut down the pain receptors. Mmmm....

There were no leaves of three to warn me of anything. I thought I knew what poison oak looked like in the winter, but I guess not. I need to get to the library and look through some reference book pictures.

OW OW OW!

I hope it clears up soon. Sheesh, Ma Nature can be mean sometimes.

Ouch! sympathies. Hope it gets better soon.

It's amazing to me what close-to-scalding hot water can feel like on an itchy rash... It's like a rush of the most intense ecstasy...not sure it's the best approach in the medium-to-long term, but that first jolt is awesome.

As someone with chronic eczema, you have sympathy. That sounds painful & aggravating (itching if I remember correctly)
